Photography and Nature

From the Luis Ceballos Arboretum Environmental Education Center we have planned a series of activities related to nature photography , one of the ways to enjoy our surroundings.

On Saturday February 9 (11: 00h.), "Nature photography workshop with a compact camera" guided tour of the Arboretum in which we will discover how to make the most of the different functions of compact cameras (and mobile phones ) and the tricks to practice different photographic techniques: macro photography, landscape photography, wildlife photography ... Explanations and implementation during the tour. It is necessary to bring a compact camera (and / or mobile phone with a camera). Place: CEA Arboretum Luis Ceballos. Approximate duration: 2 hours.

On Saturday February 16 (11: 00h.), "Internet Conference and the identification of living species" by Rosa Angulo San Millán, Coordinator of the citizen platform Biodiversidad Virtual . He will tell us about the existing tools in the network to identify, through specialists in the different groups, our photographs of living beings and participate in a large-scale project to study the distribution of species. Conference venue: San Lorenzo de El Escorial Youth House (C / Presillas 11). Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes.

On Saturday March 16 (in the morning), TESTING IN THE ARBORETO AND MOUNT ABANTOS . Testing is a naturalistic activity that consists of taking the maximum number of photographs of the biodiversity of an area to later upload them to the Virtual Biodiversity project in order to identify the photographed species and contribute data to the knowledge of biodiversity. Its objectives are to provide data for science, dissemination and conservation, at the same time that the participants learn and are trained in the recognition of species from the hand of specialists. The occasion will be used to inaugurate the Virtual Biodiversity Point " Arboretum Luis Ceballos and Mount Abantos". Soon we will detail all the information about the event.
Participation in these activities is free but there are limited places.
