"Miocene deposits of Somosaguas"

Jaime Cuevas is a geologist and professor at the University of Alicante. This expert on the Madrid Miocene is going to tell us about Somosaguas (Pozuelo, Madrid), a place that is a memory of when Madrid, 14 million years ago, was occupied by a large lake where mastodons, rhinos and unimaginable species were going to drink. Somosaguas

It constitutes a fundamental enclave in Madrid paleontology, a school of paleontologists and a pioneer in the so-called “social paleontology”. A luxury for the senses and the knowledge of our community.

" Battalions, an exceptional site "

Manuel Hernández is a Paleontologist and Associate Professor of the Department of Paleontology at the Complutense University of Madrid. In addition, he is a member of the excavation and research team at the Batallones sites (Torrejón de Velasco, Madrid). Battalions is undoubtedly an extraordinary place full of remains that tell us what Madrid was like and who lived 9 million years ago. Fossils of saber-toothed tigers, giraffes, rhinos and other large carnivores that will take us back in time to a wild and amazing Madrid .
